Where to apply essential oils on your body

Anytime you apply, rub, or massage essential oils into your skin, your experience starts with sensory receptors. These receptor cells are all over your body, and they do some pretty powerful stuff. Let’s talk about what these human body receptors are and why they’re so amazing!

What is a receptor, and how does it work?

Receptors are protein molecules that have binding sites on them for different types of molecules. When an external molecule finds a binding site it fits in, it communicates with your brain through electrical signals. These signals can go to your muscles, organs, or—in the case of your olfactory receptors—the amygdala, which is involved in the emotions you experience.

Oregano Vitality (5 ml): One drop is magical and I heard straight from Gary it’s all you need daily - just ONE drop - to keep your body microbiota balanced. Because it’s not the germs that cause you get sick…it’s an unhealthy terrain in the body due to stress, lack of sleep, and/or a gut with messed up yeasts and bad bacteria.  One drop in a capsule and fill that capsule up with some carrier oil - like Olive oil or Coconut oil.

AromaEase (5ml): So you are driving up a windy road in the mountains and looking at your phone too much…and you feel like you’re gonna blow…it’s time to SCENT TENT with AromaEase.

Cinnamon Bark (5ml): Here are some fall diffuser blend ideas with Cinnamon Bark:
FALL HARVEST - 1 drop Clove (free from September promos), 3 drops Cinnamon Bark and 4 drops Tangerine.
SNICKERDOODLE: 5 drops Stress Away, 3 drops Cinnamon Bark.
PUMPKIN PIE: 5 drops Cinnamon bark, 1 drop Clove, 1 drop Nutmeg. Also a Vitality oil, this oil supports the circulatory system, cardiovascular system, and digestive system. I know it’s too good to be true that something can be part of smelling like a cookie and good for your digestion.

Thyme (15 ml): Our second RAINDROP Oil! If you don’t know how to use the Raindrop oils, watch this short video here ( You do not need to know how to give an entire raindrop to use the raindrop oils! Thyme is also awesome in your diffuser with Lavender !!

Palo Santo (5ml): It was once dubbed as a wonderful substitute for Valerian when Valerian was out of stock for so long…so you can imagine how SUPER CALMING it is. It smells absolutely incredible: woodsy and sacred is how I would describe the smell. Palo Santo actually means “sacred wood” and after visiting the Palo Santo forests we have at our farm in Ecuador.

MultiGreens:  is a chlorophyll formula supplement that was created to boost vitality by working with glandular, nervous, and circulatory systems. MultiGreens is made with spirulina, alfalfa sprouts, barley grass, bee pollen, eleuthero, Pacific Kelp, and our essential oils.

It is a natural, sustainable energy source with bioactive sea vegetables that increase vitality, nutrient dense bee pollen, essential oils to increase assimilation, and an excellant source of choline which is critical for energy production.
Bee pollen is loaded with tons of vitamins and minerals including potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, manganese, copper, and B vitamins. And that ELeuthero Root....amazing stuff - it boosts energy and reduces stress! (Double win!) It also strengthens lymphocyte function which strengthens the immune system.

But what about those hormones and that thyroid which balance is crucial for maintaining good energy levels? Pacific Kelp is in there for just that! Pacific kelp supports thyroid function and helps to keep our hormones balanced and in check!
And our oils....infused with Rosemary (supports our endocrine system), Lemon (immune support), Lemongrass (supports the Digestive system), and Melissa (energizes the body and fights against natural occurring inflammation).
Even toddlers can get a full capsule dumped out into his smoothie and an older child can take.

Our Seed to Seal Story Collection: When you spend 400 pv this month you will get this collection of 10 ml oils that includes Lavender, peppermint, and Tea Tree. Three of our most used essential oils. It comes in a small box and could be the easily gifted someone! It’s also a perfect “spa experience” in a box!

Which Essential Oils Are Safe To Ingest

Which essential oils are safe to ingest?

It’s a common question and one you’ve probably had yourself: Which essential oils are safe to ingest? It can be hard to know if ingesting essential oils is safe; from Pinterest to YouTube, you’ll find thousands of different answers. We know how important essential oil safety is and that nothing is more critical than choosing the right products for you and your family, so we’ve got all the information you need to know about the internal use of essential oils.

Essential oils explained

Let’s start at the beginning. Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts, with a single drop containing the equivalent constituents of several plants. So while the important benefits we find in nature are valuable and important, it’s also critical to remember that too much of a good thing is a bad thing. For instance, while we all need water every day to live and thrive, too much could lead to water toxicity. Similarly, using too much of an essential oil can result in negative effects. That’s why the directions on the label are so important; they maximize safety and the benefit of the oil, while minimizing any potential reactions.
essential oils you can ingest
This begs the question, however: Which essential oils are safe to ingest? You always want to make sure that the essential oils you choose to use internally are the purest available and that they come from plants that are safe for human consumption. Fortunately, Young Living has a line of essential oils specifically labeled for internal use with directions on how to do so safely. There’s no difference in purity and authenticity when it comes to our Vitality™ oils and our topical/aromatic oils, but our Vitality line is clearly labeled for internal use. When used in the proper, instructed amounts, Young Living Vitality oils provide you the freedom to share and explore essential oils in nutritious and delicious ways!
If you want the safe way to ingest essential oils, try the tips below using some of our favorite Vitality oils. Be sure to follow the label instructions so you always know the correct amount of essential oil to ingest and so you know that you’re choosing safe essential oils for internal use.

Peppermint Vitality

The cool, refreshing flavor of Peppermint is a welcome addition to food, beverages, and as a dietary supplement. Try these tips for ingesting this fresh and minty essential oil!
  • Follow label instructions and add Peppermint to your daily dietary supplements to support normal digestion.*
  • Use in baking, like in these yummy guilt-free peppermint brownies.
  • Include a drop in a glass of cool water for a refreshing start to your morning and to enhance healthy gut function.*

Lemon Vitality

Love the fresh flavor of lemon? By using Lemon Vitality essential oil, you can get the bright, zesty taste and antioxidant benefits of lemon in your daily life.
  • Add Lemon Vitality to a tall glass of cold water for a fresh, antioxidant-infused drink to start your day.
  • Add 1-2 drops to a vegetarian gel capsule and take it daily for immune and circulatory support.*
  • Blend a drop in Gary’s True Grit® Einkorn Pancake and Waffle Mix Top your breakfast with fresh fruit for a healthful breakfast that tastes like lemon-poppy seed cake.

Car Kit For Every Kid-Mergency

Emergency car kit for kids | Young Living

Dr. Mom™: Car kit for every kid-mergency

The secret’s out! The key to unlocking a super mom’s super power is always being prepared. The trick is keeping a kid-mergency car kit packed with essentials. Here’s what you’ll need:
  1. Lavender essential oil uses | Young LivingBandages of all sizes. They’re a quick and easy fix for accidents big and small. Keep a few stashed away for scraped knees and other owies. We suggest having a small first aid kit handy, including Lavender essential oil to cleanse and soothe minor skin irritations.
  2. Young Living Seedlings® Wipes. Kids can be messy. Keep your car and your kids clean with our gentle, lightly fragrant Young Living Seedlings™ Baby Wipes. They’re a great solution to any sticky situation.
  3. Thieves® Waterless Hand Purifier. We know kids are naturally curious and want to touch everything! Keep tiny hands clean with our Thieves® waterless hand purifier.
  4. Your favorite essential oil. Raising little ones is an exciting time, but the job description comes with chaotic days. At times it can feel like a workout just getting kids buckled in to car seats! Once you’ve had the opportunity to get in the driver’s seat, reward yourself and your kids with a deep breath of your favorite essential oil, like Stress Away™ essential oil. Try adding a few drops to a cotton ball and clipping it to an AC vent so the whole family can benefit from the fresh, soothing aroma.
  5. Flashlight. Having an emergency at night is the worst—especially because it’s tough to see. Make the situation less scary with a flashlight to help you get through it with ease.
  6. KidScents SniffleEase essential oil blend | Young LivingKidScents®. You never know when you’ll need to whip out the oils for your kiddos. Some favorites to keep in your compartment are Owie™TummyGize™, and SniffleEase™.
  7. $20 bill. Forget your wallet? Keep some cash stashed in your car so you aren’t left stranded with your kids. Forgot the lunch money? You have a $20 in your kit!
  8. Extra clothes. Kids find a way to spill anything and everything on their clothes. Store an extra set in your back seat in case they need to change into clean clothes before going to Grandma’s house. Find some super cute Young Living gear for kids to stash in your car also!
  9. Diapers. Not only are diapers used for cute baby bums, but they can also double as drink-spill wiper-uppers, cleanup if someone gets carsick, or as a bandage if your kiddo gets hurt. Who knew they were so versatile?
  10. Sick bag. Sometimes kids get sick, and cars seem to be a favorite location. Avoid cleaning up your little one’s morning meal by keeping a sick bag close by. And in case they miss the bag, keep Thieves® Wipes on hand to clean up the mess.
  11. Deep Relief essential oil roll on | Young LivingDeep Relief Roll-On. When you’re chauffeuring kids all day, you’re bound to get a stiff neck and muscle aches. Pop out your Deep Relief Roll-On™ for a soothing massage and enjoy the refreshing and cooling sensation on your neck and shoulders.
  12. Comfort toy. For fidgety little hands, it’s nice to have a distraction, especially during long rides. Bypass the screaming and kicking after a long day and give your tiny tots Young Living’s AromaSpinner™. It’ll help keep them entertained and you focused on the road.
  13. Snacks. Hunger pangs create fussy little ones. We suggest adding some Gary’s True Grit® Wolfberry Crisp™ Bars, crackers, raisins, and other healthy snacks to your kid-mergency car kit.
  14. Water bottles. Water is great for hydrating, but it’s also handy for washing dirty hands and feet, cleaning up spills, rinsing out sippy cups, and more. Keep a few bottles in your car kit—you’ll be grateful you did!
YL Tip: No need to limit the powers of your kid-mergency kit to just your car. Keep some of the essentials—like snacks, a roll-on, oils, and wipes—in your purse for easy access no matter where you are!

Whether you had an emergency or a smooth car ride, treat your little ones to our DIY bathtub crayons or diffuse some kid-friendly essential oil blends when you get home.

Essential Oils and Pets: A Quick How-To

You love to share essential oils with your family, so it makes sense that you want to share them with your pets as well! Before you begin using essential oils for pets, you need to know the answers to some important questions: Can you use essential oils on dogs, cats, and other pets the same way you use them on yourself? How much should you use? What is the best way to administer oils for topical and internal use?
Check out our quick and easy how-to guide for tips and info that will answer your questions about essential oils for dogs, cats, and other animals!*
It is important to note that animals cannot tell us if something is working or not, so it is our duty to exercise due caution and approach using oils on animals safely and responsibly.
Please note that these are general recommendations for use. If your veterinarian suggests other usage, defer to your veterinarian. If your pet is pregnant, nursing, or has a medical condition, consult a veterinarian prior to use.

Basic Guidelines

Essential oils and pet
There are some general tips and suggestions you’ll want to keep in mind as you share essential oils with your furry friends.
  • Do not use essential oils on and around cats or dogs under 8 weeks old because they are developing at fast rates; it is easy to mess up the proper dilution for each breed.
  • Animals are generally more sensitive to essential oils than humans are. It’s best to heavily dilute essential oils and use them in moderation.
  • Every animal is different, so carefully observe how your animal responds to essential oils. Use common sense and good judgment as you try different methods.
  • Be especially careful to not get essential oils in an animal’s eyes.
  • If diffusing, always allow cats access to areas where they can avoid the diffused oil.
  • With all animals, avoid using high-phenol oils—such as OreganoWintergreenCloveMountain Savory, and Thyme. This is especially important with cats.
  • Use special caution with cats and essential oils. Avoid applying citrus oils topically, diffusing the scent around cats, and having your cat ingest them.
